What kind of candidates
will I be reviewing?
You will be presented with candidates who are QAI – Qualified,
Available, and Interested. It is our responsibility to make sure
that every candidate we present meets the Charles Aris QAI standard.
- Qualified. You want candidates who can hit
the ground running. Charles Aris will present you with candidates
who are able to do the job based on their knowledge, skills and
abilities: candidates that fit the technical requirements
of the job. But we don’t stop there. Qualified also means
that a candidate must fit the culture of the organization,
and our Priority Search process ensures that we locate candidates
that have the necessary soft skills to be successful in your unique
environment.
- Available. The best resume in the world is
useless if the candidate is not ready to interview, move to your
location, and start work within your desired time frame. An available
candidate is not restricted by a non-compete agreement, has the
legal right to work in your country, and is willing to relocate
if required.
- Interested. With all of the time and energy
invested in a search, when you finally do make an offer, you want
it to be accepted. This should not be based on a wish and a hope.
Charles Aris takes the guesswork out of acceptance by fostering
a candidate’s interest in the job, and making sure that
the candidate’s interest remains high throughout all stages
of the process. By the time you are ready to make the offer to

Why can’t I
do it myself?
You devote your time, talents, and resources

- Time. Charles Aris is not a high volume resume
submission service. You won’t be reviewing a large stack
of unqualified resumes that make you wonder if anyone took the
time to understand your needs. Instead, our Account Managers take
the time to match the right candidates to the job.
- Talent. We fill our own internal positions
with the same attention to detail as we do yours. Put simply,
we hire the very best Account Executives in the world of executive
search.
- Resources. In our 30 years of executive search,
we have faced and overcome nearly every imaginable obstacle to

How can I be sure
about the candidate’s qualifications?
You get the story behind the resume through
our extensive candidate due diligence process.
- Reference Checks. Charles Aris completes a
360-degree check of references, including supervisors, peers and
subordinates. We’ve learned that speaking with colleagues
that know the candidate from all sides is the only way to fully
understand a candidate’s management style and identify any
potential issues. Our reference questions are designed to “peel
back the onion” to get to the heart of the candidate's qualifications
and assess the fit with your company’s culture. We ask our
clients to add to this process by contributing their own additional
questions. The result for the client is a fuller appreciation
of a candidate’s strengths, and a clearer understanding
of their developmental challenges – before an offer
is made.
- Background Checks. Depending on the needs
of the client, Charles Aris can complete thorough background checks
on any candidate, from confirming education to work experience
and everything in-between.
How can I be sure
a candidate fits our corporate culture?
Charles Aris matches candidates to your culture
with a mix of art and science.
- Art. Charles Aris takes culture into account
from the beginning of the search to the end. At the beginning
of the process you can expect a lot of questions about your corporate
culture. Charles Aris then questions candidates about their ideal
working environments, and confirms their responses through detailed
reference checks. At the end, you can expect to be presented with
candidates who will be a good fit to your unique atmosphere.

- Science. Charles Aris uses the SelecSys
system to match the behavioral traits of the candidate to the
core competencies of the position. The SelecSys system
is an included service with our Priority Search Agreements. The
hiring authority at your company completes a short online questionnaire
that identifies the core competencies of the position as demonstrated
by your top performers. Candidates then complete an online profile,
and the SelecSys process evaluates the candidate along
five dimensions: extroversion, dominance, patience, conformity
and conscientiousness. These traits are then matched to the required
competencies of the position, resulting in a quantitative assessment
of a candidate’s fit with the job.

How can you service
my account from Greensboro, NC?
Charles Aris does not restrict itself geographically
in any way, and we have a proven national and international track
record. In fact, less than ten percent of our revenues are generated
within our home state of North Carolina. Nationally our scope ranges
“from Portland, Oregon to Portland, Maine” as we like
to say. But our scope doesn’t stop at the U.S. border. Charles
Aris has placed candidates across the globe. In 2003 alone we placed
talent in as far away places as Beijing, Jakarta, Hong Kong and
Germany, and in all cases 100% of the process was managed out of
our North Carolina headquarters. For especially difficult international
searches we can tap into our affiliate network of executive search
firms, spanning over thirty countries outside the United States.
Charles Aris is successful across the globe
due to two guiding principles: “High Touch” and “High
Tech”.
- High Touch. Open and frequent communication
is key to this business. During the search process, your Charles
Aris Account Manager and Project Manager will stay in constant
communication with you and the candidate. In fact, many of our
clients tell us that we over-communicate, but we wouldn’t
have it any other way.
- High Tech. Charles Aris has access to the
world’s largest private video conferencing network, totaling
over 400 locations in the United States and internationally. This
network allows our clients to interview long distance candidates
without the time and expense of travel. The network is available
for interviews, and to prescreen candidates. It’s a great
way to have a virtual “face-to-face” conversation
with someone half way around the world.

of a search, which is why we’ve invested in a video-conferencing
system that works in conjunction with over 400 locations in the
United States and internationally.
- Background research services. Depending on
the needs of the client, Charles Aris can complete thorough background
checks on any candidate, from confirming education to work experience
and everything in-between.
- Relocation services. Relocating an employee
can be an extremely stressful undertaking. That’s why we’ve
partnered with a national relocation service that helps to ease
the burden. Our relocation partner provides cost of living analysis,
home finding assistance, mortgage services and significant savings
on moving and travel costs.
