Job Description:As an important member of the leadership team charged with aggressive growth objectives for the company, the Global Marketing/Business Development Manager is responsible for working with the global team to develop the strategic direction and lead the decision making process. This role has responsibility for organic and non-organic growth opportunities including acquisitions and game changing breakthroughs. In addition, this position is responsible for the business strategy, brand positioning, market intelligence, adjacency analysis and market segmentation. Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead and Define Growth: Define and further qualify additional vertical markets. Develop strategies to penetrate or expand. List all options, prioritize them, and then establish methods to track execution success.
- Cultivation and Acquisitions: Manage the acquisition funnel, successfully cultivate targets. Own and "project manage" acquisitions including strategic rationale, due diligence and post merger integration.
- Competitive Analysis: Evaluate the offering versus competition and identify gaps in the current portfolio, specifically around price points, system features, and third party support. Research and evaluate emerging technologies to determine applicability and opportunity in the Feedback space. Incorporate these ideas into the overall product roadmap/strategic plan to provide long-term product vision and differentiation.
- Marketing & Brand Strategy: Determine and deliver product roadmap (including key features and enhancements) based on sound analysis of customer market needs and identification of what will drive product adoption. Key activities include: conduct detailed market analysis; develop product specifications requirements, and determine/set priorities and delivery schedules that balance internal resource availability with market requirements. Compile business and underlying financial plans.
- Brand Management: Continuously develop brand identities (North America, Europe and Asia) in support of the company's values and mission, ensure approval and brand consistency, ensure measurement of brand awareness, establish and monitor the implementation of brand asset management policies and metrics.
- Voice of Customer Analysis: Leverage the company tools to understand exactly what the customer's needs are and address. Utilize information gathered to develop next generation product designs.
- Build World Class Marketing Team: Mentor Product Managers. Assist product Managers in developing defined roadmaps and strategies. Develop and lead training methods to instill a more strategic marketing process.
Job Requirements:
- Relevant Experience: Prior Global Marketing/Business Development experience within an organization realizing sales of $80m (7-10 years) at an Industrial products company is desired. Global experience is necessary. Successful M&A experience and ownership from identification to integration.
- Marketing Strategy Development: Has had ownership of significant marketing strategy development with sustained, measurable and profitable results. Hands-on development and recommendation of product and market penetration strategies to business unit leaders that has delivered market share, sales growth and profitability.
- Analytical Rigor: Conceptual, strategic, but able to probe into specifics when necessary. Analytical and fact-based most of the time, but able to draw on intuition. Able to reduce an overwhelming amount of information into a few salient issues to focus on. The ability to prioritize the most relevant from all other issues.
- Powerful Communication: The ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and on paper. The ability to build consensus with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to build partnership internally and externally.
- Educational Credentials: The right candidate will possess a Masters in Business Administration from a top-tier educational institution and a strong GMAT score. An undergraduate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred.
